Wheel-throwing is challenging, but also incredibly relaxing and fun! It's a fantastic way to relieve stress, hone your hand-eye coordination, and make something functional, personal and useful for yourself, or gifts for family and friends.
This class focuses on working with the pottery wheel, covering all the basics of wheel-throwing, from preparing your clay, to centering, to opening and controlling your clay in order to make the foundational shapes, to trimming your work, to glazing your bisqued pieces with food-safe glazes so that you can use them every day.

Our Studio Setup

Classes take place at our beautiful new pottery studio in Island View, at 133 Old Mill Road, located just over 10 km from downtown or uptown Fredericton--a 10 minute drive.

Our new studio is fully equipped, with 6 brand new Shimpo pottery wheels, two new computer-controlled electric Coneart kilns, and offers a spacious, bright and safe learning environment.

Classes are restricted to 6 participants.

The expansive, 3-hour period for each of the 5 class sessions allows for ample time to explore both hand-building and wheel-throwing, and will give you the opportunity to make several functional pieces of finished and (food-safe) glazed pottery that you can use in your home.

Class fees include all 5 sessions, a 25lb bag of either white porcelain clay, or dark stoneware clay, the firing of your work, and the use of our glazes--everything is included!

Location: Clark Pottery, 133 Old Mill Road, Island View, NB, E3E 1A2

Finished Pottery Pickup: anytime from Friday May 3rd until May 17th (by appointment or by chance--either call 506 245-0741, or stop by).
