Adult Beginner Pottery--Wednesday Evening, May 15th Start
Adult Beginner Pottery Class--Wednesday Evenings
Wheel-Throwing and Hand-Building
5 Wednesdays, from 6pm to 9pm
First class: Wednesday May 15th
Last class: Wednesday June 12
This class offers a general overview of approaches, covering not only wheel-throwing, but also the basic techniques required to construct functional and decorative clay objects by hand, from pinch-pots, to working with slabs, and more.
This is a great class for beginners who want to try it all. You might be surprised by how much you love hand-building, or maybe the wheel is where it’s at for you!
Come and explore, in this no-pressure, zero-stress, all-fun, 5-class beginner series, that will give you all the foundation skills required to make your own finished work to take home.
Our Studio Setup
Classes take place at our beautiful new pottery studio in Island View, at 133 Old Mill Road, located just over 10 km from downtown or uptown Fredericton--a 10 minute drive.
Our new studio is fully equipped, with 6 brand new Shimpo pottery wheels, two new computer-controlled electric Coneart kilns, and offers a spacious, bright and safe learning environment.
Classes are restricted to 6 participants.
The expansive, 3-hour period for each of the 5 class sessions allows for ample time to explore both hand-building and wheel-throwing, and will give you the opportunity to make several functional pieces of finished and (food-safe) glazed pottery that you can use in your home.
Class fees include all 5 sessions, a 25lb bag of either white porcelain clay, or dark stoneware clay, the firing of your work, and the use of our glazes--everything is included!
