Are you a knitter, or do you have a knitter in your life? If so, you'll know that the yarn bowl is an almost-indispensable accessory for anyone who loves to knit or crochet.
This two-day workshop will give you an opportunity to make a yarn bowl (or soup, cereal, or candy bowl) from start-to finish on the wheel, *as well as*, to decorate, finish, engrave, or otherwise personalize a "blank" bowl that Lee and Yolande have made by hand.
The first class--the "making" stage--of each workshop is 3 hours long, and everyone will have a chance to spend as much time on the wheel as they like, with lots of personalized attention and help to make your bowl(s) great!
The second class, during which students will glaze their work, will last from 1.5 to 2 hours.
Every student will leave with either 2 or 3 bowls to use at home, or to give as gifts.
This workshop is totally suitable for *absolute beginners*, as well as more experienced potters, and will give anyone who has wanted to try their hand at clay (but may not want to commit to a full class series), a sense of clay as a material, and how it works to throw on the wheel.
